The city is known by many to be the birthplace of aviation, since the Wright Brothers once lived there. Toledo – Toledo is home to the Jeep vehicle manufacturing plant. It is known to many as the glass city, because many innovations including windshields have been developed there. It is also home to the University of Toledo. Youngstown – Youngstown was founded in 1802. The city was once a large hub for the steel industry. Youngstown is currently undergoing some new construction, including a hockey rink. Cuyahoga Falls- Cuyahoga Falls was mentioned in a song by the rock band the Pretenders. The city was founded in 1812, and a dam was built on the Cuyahoga River. The city was originally named Manchester. Loveland – The current mayor of Loveland is Brad Greenberg. The city has 16 different parks. Loveland was named after a man who owned and ran the general store and post office in the town in the late 1800’s. Oberlin – Oberlin was once a haven for runaway slaves, and a famous and important city involved in the Civil War. It is home to Oberlin College, a small liberal arts college.
