Natchez- Natchez was once the home of the Natchez Native American tribe, and burial grounds are still being discovered there today. The city is fairly poor, with the average household barely earning enough to be over the poverty line.
Vicksburg- Vicksburg is located on the site of a famous Civil War battle. The city is located on the Mississippi River. It is now home to a "waterways experiment station" where studies in various forms of engineering take place.
Hattiesburg- Hattiesburg is home to the University of Southern Mississippi. It was founded in 1882. Today the city is quickly becoming one of the state's fastest growing, with a population of over 100,000.
Clinton- Clinton was once home to a German POW camp during World War II. Clinton is today ranked as one of Mississippi's highest caliber school districts. The city has a population of about 24,000.
